What are chinese auctions, penny socials and penny sales, anyway?
They're enduringly popular
special event fund-raisers that combine the elements of both an auction and a raffle.
What you call them and how you define them depends, in large part, on where you
live. There are as many different ways to run these events as there are different
names for them! The one thing most of the variations have in common, though, is
that the bidding is done by ticket. Each participant buys a certain number of tickets
for a set price, then uses those tickets to "bid" on a variety of donated
items on "auction." They can bid as many tickets as they wish on each
item they're interested in, usually by depositing the tickets in a container assigned
to that item. Rather than going to the highest bidder, though, as it would at a
regular auction, the item goes to the person whose ticket is drawn, at random, from
the container. For more about this type of fun and profitable special event,

Why should my club buy ticket sheets like the ones you sell? Can't we just
use strips of tickets off a roll? Or slips of paper?
Sure you can, but the type
of tickets we sell are a lot less hassle for everybody involved. With ours, your
attendees have 26 tickets, but just one ticket number to keep track of. . . which
is a whole lot easier than keeping track of 26 different numbers. And it's
a heck of a lot easier than having to write their names on 26 separate slips of
paper!
Ticket sheets like ours also mean less work for the event crew. No long strips of
tickets to count off, lots less mess to clean up at the end of the evening -- and
no hastily scribbled names to decipher on the back of every winning ticket. The
ticket sheets can even serve as a simple way to verify how much money the auction
took in.
How big are the ticket sheets?
Each ticket sheet is approximately 8.5
inches wide by 3.66 inches high and contains 27 perforated tickets, all with the
same number -- 25 tickets for your auction, 1 ticket for your door prize, and 1
claim ticket which the bidder retains.
Do they come in different colors? And who picks the color I get? What if
I want more than one color?
Our tickets are available in 5 different
colors -- white, green, orchid, blue, and pink. On the order form you can choose
the color you prefer or let us choose a color for you. (If ordering 2,000 tickets
or more, you may choose up to two colors.) All tickets are printed in black ink.
If I order, how soon will you ship my tickets?
We're able to ship most orders within
3 to 5 business days. Please note that we are only able to ship to addresses within
the U.S.
How are they delivered?
We ship your tickets by United Parcel
Service (UPS), who delivers them right to your door. Note: UPS cannot deliver to
P.O. boxes, so you must specify a street address on the order form.
What if I'm not satisfied with my order?
We want you to be completely satisfied
with your tickets. If you're not, just return the complete order to us within 30
days for refund or replacement -- whichever solution works best for you.
I want to pay by check. How do I place my order?
We can accept payment by check
or money order on mail orders only. Just fill in the order
form, print it out, and mail it to us with your check or money order.

I buy from you and resell at a higher price?
